Apple
Festival Parade
A yearly parade is held on the Saturday
of the festival with floats and area celebrities featured.
Enter the Parade - there are cash prizes (UP TO $100) AND
NUMEROUS CLASSES so the competition is really fun!!!!!
Saturday of the Festival
is parade day and it starts at 10:00 (approx). The staging area is located by Lincoln High School north of the square.
The parade winds down to the Square, around, and then back
up to the High School. It is a walking route (for the fitter
of the participants) however, those of us less active will
be found on Floats, in Antique Autos, on Antique Tractors,
or Horseback.
The Apple Festival Parade is one of
the largest parades in Northwest Arkansas with much to see
for all (old and young alike). Shoot, if nothing else one
will get to see most of the elected officials and candidates
in the area (leave your tomatoes and eggs at home please).
All joking aside there are many area personalities in the
parade and they actually hang out around town so you get a
chance to talk it up - heck they like it.
One of our main attractions is the
display of ANTIQUE TRACTORS and these things actually run
the length of the parade. Bands, Clubs and Organizations of
all types enter and have a great time. As the head of the
parade (Carolyn) says "No one has to worry the Horses and
Horse drawn Wagons do bring up the rear".
